This review is from: Yamaha C40 classical guitar Basic Pack (Electronics)
I bought this pack as I am switching from electric to classic guitar. I am used to good quality but this time my budget was limited. The whole package was great value. The main item, the guitar, was typically Yamaha good quality, and exceeded my expectations. The rest of the contents – bag, DVD tuner and strings would have cost a great deal more bought separately. I was nervous about buying a guitar without trying it out in a shop, but I had no need to be nervous. I am delighted with this purchase. By the way I do not normally write reviews but this item deserves one.

When I purchased this product in March 2009 for £68.33 it was excellent value. OK the DVD may not be much use but the tuner and carry case are reasonable and the real winner is the wonderful rich warm tone of the C40. Now(July 2009) it is sold by amazon for £60 more at £129, don’t get me wrong it is still a geat instrument. Just remember that some of those reviews that say what great value it is will be becase they paid £60 less for it!

im probably not the best to write a review on a guitar because im only just starting. but i do know a good sound when i hear one and this definitly delivers one, i got the c40 to replace a cheap acoustic i had which was frankly killing my aspirations of learning how to play and i must admit i quite like the slightly smaller size of the classical guitar and the nylon strings. the finger board is alot easier to get around with it been stright instead of tappering. the whole guitar looks quality to be honest and feels it too. I must say i dont like the tuner you get with it and i already owned the same tuner and i dont know if its just that im an amateur but the tuner never registers the strings and notes correctly and you end up doing it by ear the dvd has a tuning section which is quite good for getting the basic tones. a bag wouldnt of gone a miss in the package would of preferd a bag to the tuner but what ya gonna do. so all in all im very pleased with it and alot of other people seem to love the c40.
